lyrics
Screams and howls that burst the night
Beastial men attack, glorious masks adorn their faces
They glory in misery, find power in pain,
These conquerors of the world,
And their armies of darkness
The empire of ruin and decay
Mask of wolf! Tight on his face
A slavering power that fills his arms
Disregard life! Disregard death!
Chaos and evil is his fate!
Insanity comes to him as easily as pride,
Born with a twisted heritage of conquest
Leader of men, Baron of his land,
His strength corrupt as the soldiers in his command
The mask of the wolf! Tight to his face
Cast away love! Cast away pain!
Disregard life! Disregard death!
Chaos and evil is his fate!
A perfect band that plays some of the most epic and creative heavy metal in the scene, with every moment being at once familiar and ancient and unknowable. They are unique and wonderful. Serpent Rider
Dark Quarterer may not sound like their first album anymore, but Vultures Vengeance embody the same feeling while still doing their own thing. A truly special band. Serpent Rider

If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
